My senior thesis took the form of a podcast series titled "We Matter: Voices in Education." This thesis investigates the importance of - and pedagogy behind - supporting students' voices in high and middle school English classrooms. During one school year, I interviewed guests and wrote, produced, narrated, and mastered each episode.
In episode one, I interviewed teachers to document the grim realities of today's classrooms and the pivotal problems of a rule-bound and voice-less education system.
In episode two of "We Matter," I interviewed a teacher and a professor. They illuminate ways to encourage students' experimentation with novel instructional methods.
In episode three of "We Matter," I conclude the series and examine the realities of implementing an experimental and voice-centric curriculum.
As seen in my resume, I have been Tumble Media's production assistant for almost three years. Tumble Media is the team behind the award-winning children's science podcast, Tumble Science Podcast for Kids. Along with many other duties listed on my resume, I pull tape and edit our roughcuts. Here is our latest episode that I helped produce and our blog is where I upload our additional resources.
"Saving Animals with Rae Wynn-Grant"
I am also responsible for Tumble Media's bonus interview episodes that I post on Patreon. I write, produce, host, and master each episode. I create compelling bonus stories with the unused interview tape from our main episode. "Saving Animals with Rae Wynn-Grant" details the fascinating world of animal conservation.
"The Path To Sincerity: The Life and Writings of David Foster Wallace"
Here is an hour-long audio essay I developed as an optional endeavor for my biography history writing course. This audio essay documents the life and legacy of author David Foster Wallace.
